Aug. 17 meeting will address issues from a policy session originally slated for March 16.

North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District's Board of Directors (Board of County Commissioners) will meet to review the District Advisory Board's bylaws at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.

Scott ArcherTentative plans to hold the meeting in person at the Clackamas County Public Safety Training Center, 12700 S.E. 82nd Ave., given the governor's COVID-19 related directives regarding holding public gatherings, may give way to meeting virtually via Zoom. 

This long-awaited meeting will address issues from a policy session originally scheduled for March 16, and canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. NCPRD Director Scott Archer said that county commissioners suspended District Advisory Board meetings until its bylaw issues were resolved.

"Unfortunately, that time period became much longer than expected due to scheduling and prioritization issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic," Archer said.

NCPRD's District Advisory Board has seven vacancies of the nine total positions within the current bylaws, the majority due to terms having expired. 

"Due to the exit of Happy Valley from the district, we will not fill the city of Happy Valley's two representative positions," Archer said. "Thus, we will be recruiting for the five valid vacancies as described in the DAB current bylaws. As with all county advisory boards and commissions, this recruitment will be an open process. The recruitment will open July 23 and will run through Aug. 31."
