Clackamas County offers Safe Routes to School art contest
For the third straight year, Clackamas County's Safe Routes to School program and the Clackamas County Arts Alliance are partnering to sponsor the Safe Routes To School Poster Art Contest.
Clackamas County is putting out a call to students grade K-8 to submit their original artwork illustrating the benefits of walking, biking, rolling and using all sorts of ways to get to school.
According to the county, the artwork should show how these modes can be fun, healthy and good for the environment. Artists are invited to use a variety of mediums including hand drawn or digitally created originals on 8.5-by-11-inch paper using pencils, crayons, pens or paint.
Students can enter to win prizes and have their artwork featured on posters, brochures and more and displayed at an exhibit sponsored by the Clackamas County Arts Alliance. Artwork will be judged based on original concept, visual design and composition, communication of the theme and storytelling. Prizes include a $100 gift card for first place, $50 gift for second and $25 gift card for third. Winners will also be featured through the Clackamas County Arts Alliance exhibit program at a public building in the fall of 2021.
