Clackamas Community College Board of Education members: We provide the educated and trained workforce needed to deal with the impacts of COVID-19

Though Clackamas Community College's actual doors may be temporarily shuttered due to COVID-19 mandates, we want to assure you that we are still open for business providing high-quality education to the Clackamas County community.

We are offering the majority of our courses online and even have some new survey classes online so students can try out programs by taking a class that exposes them to fields like wildland fire and criminology.

Our student services personnel are working remotely but still providing top-notch resources to our students, such as financial aid, advising, veterans and disability services, by phone, email and even video conferencing.

The innovation our instructors have shown in moving their courses online is astounding. They have found ways to offer courses like physical education classes and industrial technology class online. In some cases, students will receive lab equipment delivered to their home so they can perform assignments while learning online.

For our students who have been impacted by COVID-19 or will have challenges learning remotely, the CCC Foundation has set up a COVID-19 Relief Fund. To donate, visit give.clackamas.edu/covid-19.

In this challenging time, the work of community colleges is even more vital, as we provide the educated and trained workforce needed to deal with the impacts of COVID-19. To learn more about CCC's response to coronavirus, visit clackamas.edu/coronavirus.

Clackamas Community College Board of Education members who signed this letter include Dave Hunt of Gladstone, Greg Chaimov of Milwaukie, Rob Wheeler of Happy Valley, Chris Groener of Oregon City, Betty Reynolds of West Linn, Jane Reid of Estacada and Irene Konev of Canby.
