Good News: The Tilikum Crossing / Winter Light Art Festival can become the 2021 Metro Welcome Streets Event created by the residents of our community.

We can create and be the Festival. This is an event designed to be a ground swell activity. There are 4 ways to become involved in creating a street welcoming committee. (Image is Clickable Link) Sunlan Lighting

1] Leave your outdoor lights up after the Christmas deco is put away.

2] Turn on your porch light from dusk to 10 or 11 PM each evening.

3] Put a light in a window.

4] Apartment building can add to the welcome by putting a small light in windows facing courtyards or community streets.

Envision the impact we can have with our little lights as we light the streets and homes in our communities, using them to say welcome.

2020 has been a hard year. 2021 will start out as a dark year with hope. Each light in the windows, on porches, or in our yards can say welcome to the community. Together, all the lights can speak to the hope of a better new year as our world slowly turns to the promise of Spring and a better New Year.

Many cultures and religions create Light Festivals during the winter. This one is to Welcome all of us.

To make the lighting of our community happen, ask your neighbors to light your street. Next, call people in your social network and ask them to light their street January and February.
