Energy StarEnergy Trust of Oregon incentives and windows, add resale value

Inflation is hurting us all right now, but did you know that you can save money on your electricity bills by installing energy-efficient windows AND earn tax credits from the State of Oregon?

It's a win-win situation! As a trade ally contractor of Energy Trust of Oregon, at All Season Windows, we can help you find the best windows for optimum efficiency and walk you through the cash incentive and state energy tax credit process.

Replacing old windows with ENERGY STAR® certified windows lowers household energy bills by an average of 12% nationwide. They also help prevent drafts, air leaks, condensation, and noise. Window efficiency is measured in U-Value. The lower the U-Value, the better insulated the window. Not only will they lower your energy costs, but they will increase your home's resale value and add beauty.

Here's the Energy Trust of Oregon Incentive: for residential clients, the Energy Trust of Oregon offers $4.00 per square foot of windows installed, U-Value 0.27 or less $1.75 per square foot of windows installed.

Requirements:

Oregon customers heating their homes with electricity or natural gas from Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas may be eligible to participate. Washington customers heating their homes with natural gas from NW Natural may receive incentives as well.

Windows must meet U-Value 0.30 or less

For multi-family clients, the state of Oregon offers the Business Energy Tax Credit to rental property owners making weatherization improvements. The tax credit is 35 percent of eligible project costs, taken over five years. For projects with an eligible cost of $20,000 or less, the tax credit may be taken in one year. For details please

Requirements

The rental property must be a single home or apartment complex

Any business that pays Oregon income taxes is eligible for the tax credit.

Oregon non-profit organizations, public entities or businesses that don't pay state income tax may use the pass-through option to participate in the Business Energy Tax Credit program.
