Yee-haw! It's rodeo time
It's rodeo season and one of the best parts of going to a rodeo (aside from bedazzled everything and 20-pound belt buckles) are the flags. There are flags at the beer garden, flags at the stables and especially flags in the arena. None feature as prominent as Ol' Glory but if you take the time to look, you can find some dandies.
At the start of each rodeo is the singing of the National Anthem and often, horse riders are carrying the American flag. One of the crowd favorite events is flag racing where a horse and rider compete for the fastest time around preset barrels. Each contestant is given a flag to deposit in one bucket and remove from another bucket. And if you've ever seen women trick riding, you know you'll never forget it when they stand atop the saddles of two running horses while she's holding a flag.
For rodeo goers, remember that Elmer's Flag and Banner can design and create a custom flag to your unique specifications. We've made rodeo flags for stock traders, committees and sponsors, vendors, and of course, cowboys and cowgirls. Just give us a holler and we'll get to work on one for you.
