NEWS-TIMES PHOTOS: DOUG BURKHARDT - The city of Cornelius held its annual Cornelius Cleanup Day on Saturday and about 100 volunteers turned out around the community to plant flowers, paint buildings, collect trash and spruce up landscaping. This work party stayed busy at the Cornelius Library, spreading bark dust in planters around the building. State Rep. Susan McLain, who lives in Forest Grove, was among the days volunteers.
