'Avenue PDX, the Musical'

White Bird

• The presenting company welcomes the eight-member New York City group Parsons Dance, led by David Parsons, that will put on a six-part program, featuring signature works alongside an exciting tribute to New Orleans jazz. Oregon Symphony

Swap meets

It's that time of year for the two big events for car lovers in North Portland:

• The PIR Auto Swap Meet presents five miles of booths filling the course at Portland International Raceway, 1940 N. Victory Blvd., 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6. Admission is $7 and parking is $10. For more: www.portlandraceway.com.

• The 55th annual Portland Swap Meet takes place inside and outside at the Expo Center, 2060 N. Trillium Festival

The Friends of Tryon Creek (FOTC) celebrates the flowers' return with the Trillium Festival, and the 39th annual celebration takes place 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at Tryon Creek State Natural Area, 11321 S.W. Terwilliger Blvd. It's free and open to all.

This year's Trillium Festival focuses on birds and the importance of ensuring a healthy habitat for them.
