Happy Valley fest to host 60-plus acts, including Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band celebrating Jerry Garcia's birthday

If you can't get a ticket, you can watch shows via the Pickathon All-Access Streaming Pass.If you're going to Pickathon, the indie roots music festival in Happy Valley, Thursday-Sunday, Aug. 1-4, it promises to be a great lineup. Phil Lesh, a founding member of The Grateful Dead, will be playing with his band.

If you're not going to Pickathon, it's still possible for you to enjoy all the acts. For the first time, the Pickathon All-Access Streaming Pass brings the music to you directly via your computer, smartphone or other electronic device. Just go to It costs $29.99.

There'll be a large film crew working on the live streaming that navigates four stages: Mt. Hood/Starlight, Woods, Galaxy Barn and Treeline. Videos are available to watch through Monday, Aug. 5.

The lineup of 60-plus acts includes Phil Lesh & The Terrapin Family Band celebrating Jerry Garcia's birthday by playing a two-hour set on the Mt. Hood Stage on Thursday (and a three-hour set on the Woods Stage on Saturday), roots artist Tyler Childers doing an album-release gig on Friday on the Mt. Hood Stage, Americana duo Mandolin Orange playing the Starlight Stage on Saturday, and Nigerian dream band Ibibio Sound Machine concluding the festival Sunday in the Galaxy Barn.

In addition to all the music, there'll be "Laughs With Amy," comedian Amy Miller's comedy nights in the Lucky Barn, Friday and Saturday.

Scheduled to appear are: Ian Karmel, a former Portlander now based in Los Angeles and a "Late Late Show" writer; Irene Tu, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's top comics; and Mohanad Elshieky, who was part of Team Coco's "Comics to Watch" at the New York Comedy Festival.
