During 'freeze' DOCA officials plan promotions for holidays to draw customers

DOCA is distributing the cookie cutters to stores and restaurants in downtown Oregon City to give away with purchases made on Small Business Saturday.

PMG PHOTO: RAYMOND RENDLEMAN - In response to COVID-19, you no longer have to plug a meter to park in downtown Oregon City, although officers still will be checking for illegal parking in disabled zones."We have 20 designs and we're encouraging people to collect them all by spending a little money at each location," said DOCA Executive Director Liz Hannum.

Visit for more information about the Cookie Cutter Giveaway on Nov. 28 and a CASH Mob event on Black Friday to encourage everyone to spend $20 at a downtown business.

Since local businesses will need support more than ever this year, White Rabbit Gifts will be among the participating businesses in statewide campaign that launched Nov. 18 under the leadership of Gov. Kate Brown, and in partnership with Travel Oregon and Business Oregon. The state is launching the "Give the Gift of Oregon," which draws upon the Oregon spirit to support local businesses across the state this holiday season.

This effort Oregonians to buy local, whether it's online or in-person, but mostly online due to the recent freeze. This includes takeout and gift cards from restaurants, Oregon-made products from small retailers, and Oregon's bounty including food, wine, beer and coffee.
