Clackamas United Church of Christ will host a free 7 p.m. outdoor concert on July 21 with Christian singer Trey Pearson performing on the lawn.
Pearson, founder of the band Everyday Sunday, which sold hundreds of thousands of records, recently made national news for coming out as gay.
"He has been ostracized by Christian radio," said Adam Ericksen, pastor of Clackamas United Church of Christ. "He will tell us his story as he leads a concert. This concert is free, and donations will be accepted."
Pearson's song "Wake Up! Wake Up!" was the most-played Christian rock song of 2007, and his 2009 album, "Best Night of Our Lives," broke onto the Billboard 200 chart. He plans to release his debut solo album this year.
Clackamas United Church of Christ is located at 15303 S.E. Webster Road.
