Carly Wheaton added as soloist, and Asia Bui, Gavin Hounslow and Nicholas Sakai as company artists

Carly Wheaton joins OBT as a soloist, adding to the soloists ranks of Hannah Davis, Christopher Kaiser and Michael Linsmeier.

Wheaton, a California native, trained at San Francisco Ballet School and is most recently from BalletMet. She participated in the Emmy Award-winning production of "Becoming Violet," a dance film directed by Steven Weinzierl and choreographed by BalletMet's Edward Liang.

Asia Bui, Gavin Hounslow and Nicholas Sakai have been added as company artists.

Bui is from Sarasota Ballet, Hounslow from Boulder Ballet and Sakai from Eugene Ballet.

OBT apprentices Leigh Goldberger and Isaac Lee have been promoted to company artist. OBT junior members Medea Cullumbine-Robertson and Isichel Perez Rivero are coming in as apprentices.

"It is with great pleasure that I welcome four incredible new company members as well as celebrate the promotions of two extremely talented OBT artists," said Peter Franc, interim artistic director. "These changes reflect the growing technical strength of the company and will help us reach even higher levels of artistry."

The principal dancers remain Eva Burton, Xuan Cheng, Jessica Lind and Brian Simcoe.
