Portland tops NASL Indy Eleven 1-0 on Ben Zemanski's 75th-minute free kick

At Tucson, Ariz., North American Soccer League expansion team Indy Eleven lost 1-0 Wednesday to the Portland Timbers in the MLS club's final game of preseason action at the Kino Spots Complex.

It was Portland's third consecutive shutout. The Timbers head home with a 2-0-2 preseason mark, and will continue their MLS preparations with a 5 p.m. match Sunday, Feb. 23 against the San Jose Earthquakes at the newly renamed downtown stadium, Providence Park.

Jake Gleeson went the distance in goal for Portland on Wednesday. He made two diving saves with about 20 minutes to go.

The Timbers then took the lead in the 75th minute on midfielder Ben Zemanski's 25-yard free kick.
