Eight of the 38-player North team picked for the annual Les Schwab Bowl football game played in the 2013 Class 6A championship game.

State champion Central Catholic will have five players in the 67th high school all-star game, and runner-up Jesuit will have three players on the North squad.

The game is 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 21, at Hillsboro Stadium.

The North beat the South 21-14 last year to take a 32-30-4 all-time lead in the series, which began in 1948 at Multnomah Stadium as the Oregon Shrine Game.

The 2014 North roster includes Central players Aidan Wilder, Ryan Nall, Connor Humphreys, AJ Newman and Aaron Washington.

Jesuit players set to compete are Trent Warner, Charles Langraf and Henry Mondeaux.

Roosevelt, champion of the Portland Interscholastic League 5A, will be represented by three players: James Schell-Buchanan, Sione Taumoe'anga and Semise Kofe.

One other PIL player has been chosen for the North: Jaray Kindell of 6A Lincoln.

Also suiting up for the North will be Bryson Dizon of David Douglas.

Central Catholic's Steve Pyne will be the North head coach. Roosevelt's Christian Swain is slated to be one of his five assistants.
