Fanendo Adi scores twice as resurgent Portland posts 2-0 MLS victory over FC Dallas at Providence Park

The Portland Timbers looked like MLS Cup contenders again on Saturday.

They beat FC Daviis 2-0 before 21,444 at Providence Park.

Fanendo Adi had a goal in each half, giving him eight this MLS season.

Portland improved to 7-5-3 (24 points), with four in a row unbeaten at home.ADI

Dallas fell to 6-3-5 (23 points).

Adi's 13th multi-goal game as a Timber consisted of goals in the 32nd and 72nd minutes.

Sebastian Blanco got the assist on the first goal. Diego Valeri and Dairon Asprilla assisted on the other tally.

Dallas had some good chances but only two shots on goal and 10 overall, while Portland took 13 shots (five by Adi) and had five on target (four by Adi).
