SUNDAY COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROUNDUP/Beavers get big jump on Washington, beat Huskies handily



• The Ducks connected on 17 of their first 18 shots from the field to win Sunday afternoon at Pullman, Washington, and stay tied for first in the Pac-12.

Oregon went 20 of 25 in the first half and led 48-34. For the game, the Ducks made 61.5 percent from the floor.

The Cougars shot well, too (48.4 percent from the field for the game) and stayed within 66-56 after three quarters.

Oregon sophomore Ruthy Hebard didn't miss a shot all day. She was 12 of 12 on field-goal attempts and 5 of 5 at the free-throw line. She had game highs of 29 points and nine rebounds, and passed the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Sophomore Sabrina Ionescu also hit the 1,000-point mark, finishing with 17 points, a game-high nine assists and five rebounds for the Ducks.

UO guard Lexi Bando returned from injury, hit her first two shots (both 3-pointers) and finished with nine points in 12 minutes off the bench.

  • Oregon State 95, WASHINGTON 57

    • The Beavers blitzed the Huskies early, racing to a 44-11 lead by midway through the second quarter at Seattle.

    OSU was on top 52-22 after the first 20 minutes.

    Oregon State finished the game at x percent from the field (56.7 percent in the first half), while UW hit 3x percent (23.5 percent in the first half)

    Kat Tudor had 17 of her game-high 23 points for the Beavers in the first half, sinking 5 of 6 shots in the half, all from 3-point range.

    OSU was 12 of 19 from 3-point distance in the first half and x of x for the game.

    Mikayla Pivec added 15 points, seven assists and five rebounds for OSU.

    Taya Corosdale had 13 points and six rebounds. Katie McWilliams had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists. Taylor Kalmer had 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Aleah Goodman scored 10 points.
