Pritchard, Ducks pull away from Cougars

Payton Pritchard guided the Oregon offense expertly, and the Ducks played some defense, too, in their conference victory at Matthew Knight Arena.
Oregon improved to 17-8 overall and 7-5 in the Pac-12.
Washington State is last in the conference at 1-11 and is 9-15 for the season.
The Cougars led only at 6-3, but stayed close for most of the first half.
Pritchard had 11 points and five assists in leading the Ducks to a 38-28 halftime lead against WSU and coach Ernie Kent, the former UO men's basketball boss.
The Oregon lead grew to 19 with 5:42 left in the game.
The Ducks went on a 14-0 run over the final 2:15 to extend the margin.
Prtichard finished with 19 points and 10 assists, with passing that helped UO shoot 50.0 percent from the field. He was 7 of 13 from the field, 3 of 6 from behind the 3-point line.
Also for Oregon, Kenny Wooten had 10 points, eight rebounds and three blocks, while MiKyle McIntosh and Victor Bailey Jr. each scored 13 points and Troy Brown had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Ducks had a 21-8 edge in bench scoring, a 30-12 advantage in points in the paint and a 21-3 lead in fast-break points.
