THURSDAY COLLEGE SOFTBALL ROUNDUP/Kleist out-duels Sooner ace Parker; Sanders homers, has 3 RBIs


OREGON 5, Oklahoma 0

• A one-game regular season meeting between No. 2-ranked Oklahoma and No. 4 Oregon went to the Ducks before 2,522 fans at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene.

Megan Kleist (14-5), a junior, tossed a one-hitter, backed by solid defense. The Sooner hit was a short-hop ground ball that got under shortstop DJ Sanders' glove in the fourth inning.

Kleist walked one and struck out five.

On offense, the Ducks chased Oklahoma ace Paige Parker (21-2) after three innings. Sanders' home run put Oregon on top 2-0 in the first. Mary Iakopo homered in the third, and in the fourth Jenna Lilley and Sanders each had an RBI hit.

The Sooners fell to 38-3.

The Ducks climbed to 35-7.

Oklahoma will play at Oregon State at 2 p.m. Friday and noon Sunday.

Oregon will play host to Stanford at 6 p.m. Friday, 5 p.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.
