Beavers pull away from Stanford
OREGON STATE 10, Stanford 0
• The No. 3-ranked Beavers made it two in a row in their Pac-12 showdown with the No. 2 Cardinal
at Goss Stadium — and this one wasn't close.
The Beavers, who took the series opener 6-2 on Friday night behind Luke Heimlich's 14-strikeout pitching over eight innings, scored in four of their eight times at-bat and rang up 11 hits.
Oregon State scored three runs in the bottom of the third and two in the fifth to lead 5-0.
Nick Madrigal got things started with a two-run triple, and he scored on a passed ball to make it 3-0.
Trevor Larnach homered with Madrigal aboard for the five-run advantage.
In the sixth, Oregon State got another run on Steven Kwan's RBI single.
Two innings later, the Beavers went in front 7-0 on consecutive singles by Michael Gretler, Jack Anderson and Tyler Malone. Zak Taylor followed with an RBI double, making the score 8-0. A sacrifice fly by Cadyn Grenier added another run. Then Taylor scored on a wild pitch.
OSU starter Bryce Fehmel (7-1) allowed three hits, one walk and no runs in eight innings, with four strikeouts. He threw 98 pitches.
Brandon Eisert relieved Fehmel to start the top of the ninth and did the rest.
The series will conclude with a game at noon Sunday.
OREGON 13, Utah 1
• The Ducks assured themselves of a series victory, posting five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to break open a tight game at PK Park.

Kenyon Yovan hit a sacrifice fly.
Utah tied the score on a sac fly in the fourth.
The Ducks regained the lead in the sixth, when Ray Soderman hit an RBI double.
The seventh-inning surge by UO included RBI singles by Yovan, Jonny DeLuca and Soderman and a two-run triple from Gabe Matthews.
Six more runs came in the eighth as Spencer Steer doubled with two men on base, DeLuca had an RBI ground out, Matthews hit an RBI double and Jason Drees doubled two runners to the plate.
Starter Matt Mercer (5-5) gave up five hits and one run, with two walks and 10 strikeouts, in seven innings.
The Ducks finished with 15 hits, while the Utes had eight.
Oregon improved to 24-24 overall and 10-13 in the Pac-12
Utah slipped to 13-34, 6-17
The Ducks took the series opener, 6-2, on Friday.
The finale is noon Sunday.
San Diego 5, PORTLAND 0
• The Pilots managed only four hits and gave up 16 in dropping the middle game and falling to 0-2 in the home series at Joe Etzel Field.
The Pilots, who lost 9-4 on Friday, will finish the series with a game at noon Sunday.
UP fell to 19-28 overall and 9-14 in the West Coast Conference.
San Diego is 23-29, 12-14.
USD's Chris Murphy went the distance Saturday night, throwing 136 pitches and notching six strikeouts to go with five walks.
The Toreros scored two runs in both the fourth and fifth innings and got their final run in the sixth.
