SUNDAY COLLEGE SOFTBALL ROUNDUP/No. 1-ranked Ducks will face Kentucky in Eugene NCAA super regional

• The Beavers' run at the NCAA regional in Tuscaloosa, Alabama — which include two wins Saturday elimination games — came to an end in the championship round.

The host Tide, ranked 13th and 36-18, ended OSU's season at 30-28.

Meehra Nelson (16-11) took the loss in a five-inning start before giving way to Mariah Mazon.

The Beavers gave up three two-run innings (first, fifth and sixth) and eight total hits.

OSU's only hit was a single by Hope Brandner with one out in the seventh. The only other Beaver base runners came on two walks.

• No. 1-ranked Oregon's opponent in this week's super regional at Eugene will be No. 19 Kentucky.

The Wildcats advanced with an 8-0 Sunday regional final victory at home over Notre Dame.

Kentucky (34-19) outscored its three regional home games, 28-1.

Game 1 at Jane Sanders Stadium is 6 p.m. Thursday. Game 2 will start at 8 p.m. Friday. Game 3, if necessary, would be at 6 p.m. Saturday.
