Joel Hofer went the distance in goal for the Hawks, making 40 saves.
Prince George got the only first-period goal on a power play at 13:55.
The Cougars made the score 2-0 at 2:29 of the second period.
Jake Gricius got Portland on the board at 16:38 of the middle frame. The power-play assists went to Joachim Blichfeld and Josh Paterson.
The Hawks pulled even on Paterson's unassisted score 2:36 into the third period.
Then it was Blichfeld scoring the power play at 14:51, with assists to Jared Freadrich and Gricius.
It was Blichfeld's ninth game-winner of the season and Portland's first three-power-play-goal game since in a 6-3 victory over Seattle on Dec. 31.
Paterson notched his 30th career multi-point game.
Gricius tied for the team lead in power-play goals with 16.
Blichfield added to his Western Hockey League-leading totals, now at 53 goals and 110 points.
Portland, playing again without injured forward Cody Glass, improved to 39-19-3-3 (84 points).
Prince George fell to 17-40-5-3 (42).
