Pilots sign three players for men's soccer

The Portland Pilots have signed three players.
Attacking midfielder Yusuf Cueceoglu will be a junior after playing his first two seasons at Villanova, where he had six goals and two assists. He played in the Under-19 Bundesliga, has appeared multiple times for Turkey youth national teams and has been called into United States U-17 camp.
Winger Michael Hamilton played two seasons at Saginaw Valley State, where he scored 14 goals and had eight assists and was recognized as first-team all-conference and first-team all-Midwest Region after last season.
Central defender Delentz Pierre is a product of the Real Salt Lake Academy. The No. 142 recruit in the country, according to Top Drawer Soccer, Pierre has represented Haiti in U-20 play.
Oregon State junior catcher Adley Rutschman is the Pac-12 player of the week.
The Sherwood High product went 8 for 13 with two home runs, nine RBIs and five walks in a 1-2 weekend at UCLA.
COLLEGE WOMEN'S GOLF
Concordia placed fourth out of nine teams in the Otter Invitational at Seaside, California.
The Cavaliers finished at 75-over-par 651 for 36 holes at Bayonet Black Horse Golf Course. They were 29 strokes behind first-place Dallas Baptist.
CU's Kendall Freeman and Cammie Decker tied for 14th at 19-over 163. Medalist Evelyn Arguelles of Dallas Baptist shot 151.
Five Portland players will join national teams during this week's FIFA international window. All five will rejoin the club prior to Portland's next match on March 31 at the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Midefielders Cristhian Paredes (Paraguay) and Andy Polo (Peru) have been called into their national teams for a pair of friendly matches. Their teams square off against each other at 5 p.m. Friday at Red Bull Arena. On March 26, Paraguay will play Mexico in Santa Clara, California and Peru will play El Salvador at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C.
Defender Marco Farfan, forward Jeremy Ebobisse and midfielder Eryk Williamson are part of the U.S. Under-23 team at a camp in Spain through March 25. The United States is scheduled to play Egypt on Friday and the Netherlands on Sunday, both matches at 9 a.m. PT.
Timbers assistant coach Miles Joseph is part of the coaching staff for the U-23 camp in Spain.
Portland is one of six finalists for the Sports Business Journal's 2019 Sports Business Awards Team of the Year. Other finalists are Atlanta United (MLS), the Golden State Warriors (NBA), Milwaukee Bucks (NBA), Milwaukee Brewers (MLB) and Washington Capitals (NHL).
Factors in the award include attendance, fan engagement and other business practices along with success on the field.
The Thorns are the first women's team to be nominated for this award, which has been given for 12 years.
The winners will be announced at a May 22 ceremony in New York City.
