Visiting team has outscored Seattle 36-11 in first three games of series; Minnesota hits six homers, including Byron Buxton's second-inning grand slam

SCHOOPByron Buxton hit a second-inning grand slam and Minnesota hit six homers as the Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 18-4 Saturday at T-Mobile Park.

The Twins, who had 19 hits, led 15-0 at one point.

C.J. Cron and Jonathan Schoop each hit two homers for the Twins (30-15). Miguel Sano also homered for the American League Central Division leaders.

Seattle starter Wade LeBlanc gave up seven hits and seven runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Schoop went 3 for 5 with five RBIs and two runs scored. Cron went 3 for 6 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Buxton had two hits and five RBIs and scored two runs. Eddie Rosario and Marwin Gonzalez each had three hits for the Twins.

MInnesota goes for the four-game sweep against Seattle (22-26) at 1 p.m. Sunday. Yusei Kikuchi (2-1, 3.64) pitches for Seattle opposite Kyle Gibson (4-1, 4.26).

The Mariners are 9-24 in their past 33 games after starting the season 13-2.
