Oregon baseball falls at UC Riverside

Oregon lost its nonconference match and fell to 27-27.
Senior Jared Noonan (3-2) was the winning pitcher for the Highlanders, allowing no runs and only three hits in three innings. Freshman Andre Granillo got his fourth save on the year.
UO sophomore Hunter Breault (1-1) tgave up a run and two hits in two innings.
Junior third baseman Spencer Steer, coming off a stellar game in a loss against USC, drove in the only Oregon run with a single to left field in the top of the first inning. It scored freshman shortstop Sam Novitske in. Steer went 2 for 5.
The Highlanders answered in the bottom of the first, with senior right fielder Dean Miller scoring off an error by Novitske.
After that, both teams went scoreless until sophomore left fielder Cole Pofek hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth.
The Ducks, who had eight hits, also gave up an RBI single to Miller.
Oregon starts its final Pac-12 series at 6 p.m. Thursday, facing No. 1 UCLA at PK Park.
COLLEGE WOMEN'S GOLF
Oregon senior Kathleen Scavo tied for 22nd and Oregon State sophomore Ellie Slama tied for 103rd in the weather-shortened NCAA Division I championships at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Scavo shot a 1-over-par 74 to bring her total to 7-over 226 for 54 holes.
Slama finished with a 75, her best round of the tournament. She had a 241 total.
COLLEGE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Oregon State guard and all-Pac-12 selection Mikayla Pivec was named to the 12-player roster representing the United States at the Pan-American Games this summer.
Pivec averaged 15.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last OSU season while shooting 52.6 percent from the field.
The Pan-Am Games are Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru.
Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho was officially announced at the 12th member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. Their membership will begin in 2020-21.
The Warriors will compete in the Frontier Conference for the 2019-20 season, where they have spent the past 21 years.

An injury forced Oregon senior standout Thomas Laurent to withdraw from the singles bracket at the NCAA championships before his first scheduled match in Orlando.
