June 15, 1983

Derek Anderson (age 36)

The recently retired quarterback from Scappoose and Oregon State played 14 seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the sixth round in 2005.

June 16, 1946

Rick Adelman (age 73)

The former Trail Blazers coach (1989-94, after six years as an assistant) also was a backcourt player on the first Portland NBA team (1970-71) and played through 1973 before going to the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Jazz and Kansas City-Omaha Kings.


Dana Altman (age 61)

The University of Oregon men's basketball coach, from Crete, Neb., is 236-96 overall and 105-57 in Pac-12 play since coming to the Ducks in 2010.

June 16, 1995

Sydney Wiese (age 24)

The former Oregon State basketball guard and Phoenix native is in her third season with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks.

June 17, 1999

Henri Jokiharju (age 20)

The former Portland Winterhawks (2016-18) and current NHL Chicago Blackhawks defenseman just helped Finland capture the World Junior Championship.
