Gary Payton (age 51)
"The Glove" from Oregon State was born on this day in Oakland, California. He was the No. 2 pick in the 1990 NBA draft and made his mark as a two-way standout from 1990-2007, mostly with the team that picked him out of OSU, the Seattle SuperSonics. But the 6-4 Payton won a league title in 2006 with the Miami Heat. He was a nine-time All-Star.

The Seattle native starred for the Trail Blazers from 2006-11 and was forced to retire in 2013 due to knee problems. A 6-6 shooting guard, he was a three-time NBA All-Star.
