Oregon sports history: 2017/Smoky skies cause problems as Oregon football team seeks to practice

With smoky skies in the Willamette Valley due to wildfires in the state, the Oregon Ducks cancel a cross-country meet and have their football team bus to Siuslaw High in Florence for practice under coach Willie Taggart. At Oregon State, where the air quality is listed as moderate, the Beavers' gridders under coach Gary Andersen tough it out despite a noticeable haze.
