John M. Aust, 1962 Jefferson graduate played freshman football and track and field before being sidelined with a heart valve problem, turned to record-keeping and research, writing and analysis, compiling detailed records on PIL standings and all-league teams dating to 1901. Served 15 years as Jefferson's PIL Hall of Fame selection committee representative. Coached Pop Warner football for nine years in Northeast Portland.
