Aggies score two late touchdowns to pull away for Big Sky victory at Hillsboro Stadium

Portland State's football team went down to its third consecutive defeat, losing 45-28 to UC Davis on Saturday, and fell below .500 with one game left in its season.

The Vikings were within three points in the fourth quarter at Hillsboro Stadium before the Aggies scored with 7:36 and 54 seconds remaining.

PSU trailed 7-0 after one quarter, 17-14 at halftime and 24-21 though three quarters before the announced crowd of 3,378.

UC Davis quarterback Jake Maier passed for 383 yards and four touchdowns, while PSU's Davis Alexander threw for 285 yards and four TDs.

Emmanuel Daigbe of Portland State caught touchdown passes of 8 and 55 yards and finished with five catches for 81 yards.

Lance Babb of UC Davis had 10 receptions for 168 yards, scoring three times.

Sirgeo Hoffman led the Viks on the ground with 72 yards on 14 rush attempts.

PSU slipped to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the Big Sky.

After a bye week, the Vikings will end their season at Eastern Washington on Nov. 23.

UC Davis improved to 5-5, 3-3.

The conference leader, Weber State, beat North Dakota 30-27 on Saturday and is 6-0.

Montana and Sacramento State are 5-1.

Montana State and Eastern Washington are 4-2.
