Staff report: Portland snaps five-game losing streak, shooting well everywhere but from 3

Damian Lillard bombed in 35 points, CJ McCollum added 24 and Hassan Whiteside collected 23 points, 21 rebounds and five blocked shots as the Trail Blazers snapped a five-game losing streak with a 122-103 victory over Washington on Friday night at Capital One Arena.

Jordan McRae came off the bench for 35 points for the Wizards (10-24).

The Blazers (15-21) shot .525 from the field despite making only 6 of 25 3-point attempts.

Portland jumped to a 19-11 lead, but the Wizards used a 7-0 spurt to draw within 19-18, then went ahead 31-27 after one quarter. The Blazers took a 61-55 advantage late in the second quarter, then extended it to 66-58 at the half, shooting .556 from the field.

The Blazers increased their advantage to 86-70 late in the third quarter. The spread was 91-78 heading into the final period.

Washington was still within 105-96 with 5:30 remaining, but Portland used an 8-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Washington point guard Isaiah Thomas was ejected after pushing a referee a minute and a half into the game.
