The former Seattle Seahawks and Oregon State coach continues to get around. Last year, he was head coach of the Salt Lake Stallions of the ill-fated Alliance of American Football.

The native of Everett, Washington, who played football for Montana State, is better known for winning national championships at Miami in1989 and 1991 and guiding the Seahawks from 1995-98 and the San Francisco 49ers in 2003-04.

In between, he coached the Beavers (1999-2002, winning a share of the Pac-10 title in 2000 and taking that team to the Fiesta Bowl, where it beat Notre Dame 41-9 to finish 11-1 and earn the No. 4 national ranking.
