The 1970-71 co-Rookie of the Year (with Dave Cowens) began his NBA career with the Blazers, who drafted him with the eighth overall pick out of Princeton.
He was born in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and scored 9,732 career NBA points (21.8 per game) as a 6-4 guard.
He later did play-by-play commentary for the Blazers and served as their general manager, then was GM of the Sacramento Kings.
