Ionescu, Hebard make national top five
The two biggest senior stars on the Oregon Ducks' women's basketball team received more big honors on Wednesday.
Guard Sabrina Ionescu and forward Ruthy Hebard were among five players chosen to the John R. Wooden Award Presented by Wendy's All-American Team.
Joining them were senior forward Lauren Cox of Baylor, senior guard Tyasha Harris of South Carolina and sophomore guard Rhyne Howard of Kentucky.
Voting took place March 16-23 for the 44th Wooden Award.
Ionescu and Hebard are the only players in UO program history to win the award. Ionescu has won it the past three years; this was Hebard's first Wooden honor.
Ionescu remains a finalist for the Wade Trophy and Naismith Trophy. The Wade winner will be revealed on Thursday; the Naismith recipient will be announced on Friday.
