Mariners rout Rangers, 10-2
An eight-game road trip started in grand fashion for the Seattle Mariners on Monday.
Kyle Seager hit a grand slam homer, Kyle Lewis hit a three-run shot and Dylan Moore a solo homer as Seattle beat Texas 10-2 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
The Mariners (7-11) tallied 15 hits, including three each by Moore and Lewis (who each had three RBIs). Seager added two hits. All nine hitters had at least one hit.
Justin Dunn picked up his first career win, as he went six innings and allowed seven hits and two runs.
The Mariners trailed 2-1 when Lewis crushed his three-run homer in the fifth inning off Texas starter Kyle Gibson.
Moore, who singled home a run earlier in the game, had an RBI single in the sixth inning, and then Seager cleared the bases with his slam.
Moore stroked his homer in the eighth inning. He scored three runs in the game.
Willie Calhoun had two hits and two RBIs for Texas (6-9).
The Mariners and Rangers play again at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Marco Gonzales pitches for Seattle opposite Mike Minor.
