Mariners eye sweep of Rangers
The Seattle Mariners have won five consecutive games, and currently have a six-game winning streak against Texas.
Kyle Seager hit a first-inning, two-run homer and Kyle Lewis added a solo shot as the Mariners beat the Rangers 4-3 Sunday at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners (18-22) go for the four-game sweep of Texas at 1:10 p.m. Monday. Marco Gonzales pitches for Seattle opposite Kolby Allard.
Backed by the two homers, Justin Dunn pitched well again, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four and walking two in six innings. He gave up solo homers to Joey Gallo and Leody Tavares.
Shed Long Jr. had an RBI single for Seattle, giving the Mariners a late cushion, as Ronald Guzman also homered for Texas (13-26).
