Sunday's game: Kings 121, Blazers 106
The skinny: Harry Giles has made himself at home with the Portland Trail Blazers — at least playing against his former team.
Giles scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Portland's 121-106 loss to Sacramento on Sunday at the Moda Center. The Blazers beat the Kings 127-102 on Friday when Giles had 18 points and 14 rebounds.
The Blazers acquired the 6-10 forward/center from the Kings. He played 104 games in two seasons with Sacramento, averaging 7.0 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Gary Trent Jr. had 17 points, Derrick Jones Jr. 15 and CJ McCollum 13 for the Blazers on Sunday.
Giles added two steals, three assists and one blocked shot in 26 minutes.
Eight players scored in double figures for Sacramento, led by Richaun Holmes and Kyle Guy with 14 points each.
The Kings led by 20 points in the first half, before Portand rallied. But, the Kings came away with the victory, outscoring the Blazers 34-22 in the fourth quarter.
Notable: The Blazers welcomed back Jusuf Nurkic and Rodney Hood to the Moda Center floor. Nurkic played his first game at Moda Center since returning from his bad leg injury last season. (He played in the bubble in Orlando). Hood, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon last season, returned to the linup after missing out on bubble play.
Nurkic played 12 minutes, scoring four points and grabbing four rebounds. Hood played nearly 12 minutes and made a basket.
Next up: The Blazers play two games at Denver on Wednesday and Friday (both 6 p.m., NBC Northwest, Rip City Radio 620).
