Wednesday's game: Nuggets 126, Blazers 95
The skinny: Denver played great team ball and Portland shot poorly — that pretty much sums up the Nuggets' 126-95 preseason win Wednesday at Ball Arena in Denver.
Denver had an incredible 39 assists on 45 baskets. The Nuggets went 19 of 46 on 3-pointers. They scored 41 first-quarter points.
Paul Millsap had 18 points and Jamal Murray 16 and Nikola Jokic had 12 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
The Nuggets also outrebounded Portland 55-33.
At one point, Robert Covington had as many 3-pointers (three) as the rest of the Portland roster combined. The Blazers shot 9 of 34 from 3-point land.
Covington led Portland with 15 points, and Damian Lillard, Carmelo Anthony and Enes Kanter had 14 each.
Next up: The Blazers and Nuggets play again at 6 p.m. Friday (NBC Sports Northwest, Rip City Radio 620). It's the Blazers' final preseason game before it Dec. 23 opener against Utah at Moda Center.
