Feb. 11 sports updates: Timbers Marvin Loria called into Costa Rica national camp; dramatic win for PSU women.

Timbers' Loria joins Costa Rica — Portland Timbers winger Marvin Loria has been called into Costa Rica's Feb. 15-25 training camp.

Loria, 23, played in 21 games (12 starts) for Portland in 2020. He has totaled two goals and three assists in 43 games in three seasons with the Timbers.

Costa Rica is slated to play two friendly matches against Honduras (on Feb. 23 and Feb 25) as it continues preparation for Concacaf Olympic qualifying matches.

The Timbers will open training camp in late February.

College men's basketball — Oregon had its projected starting five together for the first time this season in a 75-64 win at Arizona State on Thursday.

Chris Duarte and Eugene Omouryi combined for 36 points (18 apiece), 17 rebounds, seven assists and six steals as the Ducks improved to 12-4, 6-3 in the Pac-12. Oregon is one game behind first-place USC (10-2).

L.J. Figueroa made four 3-pointers and had 16 points, and Will Richardson made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points.

Remy Martin scored 30 points for Arizona State in its first game back from a COVID-19 pause. Former Portland State guard Holland Woods had seven points and four rebounds for the Sun Devils (6-9, 3-6).

Arizona 70, Oregon State 61 — At Tucson, a 7-0 run by the Wildcats starting with about four minutes left clinched the win for Arizona (14-6, 8-6) in a game the Wildcats led most of the way.

Jarod Lucas and Ethan Thompson each scored 13 points for the Beavers (10-9, 6-7), and Gianni Hunt had 12 points off the bench.

Pacific 84, Portland 57 — At Stockton, California, the Pilots fell to 6-13 and 0-10 in the WCC. Portland played without top scorer Ahmed Ali and guard Chase Adams. Michael Henn led Portland with 13 points.

College women's basketball — Jada Lewis hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left to lift Portland State to a 75-73 win over Northern Arizona at Viking Pavilion.

The winning shot came after Khiarica Rasheed made two free throws with 19 seconds left to give the Lumberjacks a one-point lead.

Kylie Jimenez scored 23 points for the Vikings (7-7, 5-6 Big Sky), hitting 5 of 7 3-pointers. Jimenez made 5 of 7 2-pointers and Lewis (14 points) was 4 for 7 on 3s as PSU finished 10 of 20 on 3-pointers.

Rasheed, a senior forward out of Portland's Grant High School, led Northern Arizona (9-10, 7-8) with 22 points.

Santa Clara 77, Portland 76 — Merle Wiehl made a 3-pointer with four seconds left as Santa Clara (12-7, 8-5 WCC) won a tight game at the Chiles Center.

Alex Fowler scored 20 points and Haylee Andrews 18 for the Pilots. Maddie Mulheim made 4 of 5 3-pointers and scored 12 points for Portland (10-8, 7-5 WCC).

College volleyball — Oregon State beat visiting Arizona State in five sets, winning the final set 15-11 after surviving a 29-27 fourth set. Freshman Mychael Vernon had 18 kills and 16 digs for the Beavers.
