March 20 updates: Oregon softball sweeps Utah, Portland Pilots in WBI basketball final; PSU volleyball triumphs.

College baseball — Oregon State and Oregon both won Saturday, March 20, to even their opening series of Pac-12 play at 1-1.

Oregon State, Washington State — Garret Forrester had three hits including his first career homer and Jake Dukart doubled twice among his three hits for the Beavers (12-4, 1-1). A five-run fourth put OSU up 7-0.

Oregon 7, Arizona State 1 — Cullen Kafka struck out 11 over seven innings and the Ducks' (9-4, 1-1) Gabe Matthews and Kenyon Yovan each hit two-run homers.

Portland 9, Pacific 3 — Pilots pitchers Brad McVay and Peter Allegro combined for 15 strikeouts as the Pilots (9-8) improved to 2-0 in WCC games.

College women's basketball — Portland beat Northern Arizona 80-65 to reach Sunday's final of the Women's Basketball Invitational at Frankfort, Kentucky.

The Pilots (14-12) face Cleveland State for the title.

Sunset High grad Maddie Mulheim scored 22 points and made 6 of 11 3-pointers to become the program's career leader with 224 3s. UP sophomore Alex Fowler scored 17 points and became the quickest Pilot to 1,000 career points.

Grant High grad Khiarica Rasheed led Northern Arizona with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

College softball — Oregon (19-1, 3-0) got a homer in the seventh inning from Rachel Cid to beat Utah 7-6 in Saturday's first game and got a complete-game shutout from Brooke Yanez in the 3-0 second game.

• Oregon State split with California. The Bears won the first game 2-0 and the Beavers the second 6-2.

College volleyball — Portland State concluded its season by sweeping Idaho State 25-19, 25-14, 25-21 at Viking Pavilion. PSU (6-12) won five of its final six matches.
