Portland State women's hoops coach leaves for McNeese State; Final Fours are set.

Timbers play two — The Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders played to a 1-1 draw in one 75-minute match and to a scoreless draw in the second 75-minute match on Tuesday at Tukwila, Washington. A late goal from Dairon Asprilla earned the tie in the first game. The Timbers open play in one week in Honduras against CD Marathon in the first round of the Concacaf Champions League.

Kennedy leaving PSU — Lynn Kennedy is the new head women's basketball coach at McNeese State in Lake Charles, Louisiana, leaving Portland State after six seasons. The highlight of his tenure at PSU was the 2019 Big Sky tournament championship.

Ellie Snook honored — Portland State volleyball sophomore Ellie Snook, from West Linn, was named the Big Sky Conference libero of the year.

College baseball — Ryan Ober and Jacob Melton homered and four Oregon State pitchers combined for 16 strikeouts in a 7-1 win Tuesday at Portland.

• Awards: Oregon State sophomore pitcher Kevin Abel was named Pac-12 pitcher of the week after pitching the first six innings of the Beavers combined no-hitter against Washington. … Portland senior Christian Peters was named WCC pitcher of the week after 11 strikeouts in eight shutout innings in a win over Santa Clara.

Final Fours set — UCLA held off No. 1 seed Michigan for a 50-48 win and top overall seed Gonzaga routed USC 85-66 to complete the men's final four.

The semifinals are Saturday, with Baylor facing Houston and UCLA facing Gonzaga.

In the women's tournament, No. 1 seeds Stanford and South Carolina won Tuesday to reach the Final Four, joining UConn and Arizona.
