Friday, April 16: Trail Blazers 107, Spurs 106
The skinny: Damian Lillard had to sit out with a hamstring injury, but the Trail Blazers got the job done Friday at San Antonio.
CJ McCollum scored 29 points and Norman Powell had 22 as Portland beat the Spurs 107-106.
The Blazers made three baskets down the stretch to win the game. Norman Powell made a driving layup and, after a DeMar DeRozan made a short shot, CJ McCollum hit a jumper. Then, with 22.8 seconds left, Powell scored the winning points on a drive to the basket and Jakob Poetl's goaltending violation. DeRozan, Rudy Gay and Poetl all missed potential go-ahead baskets for San Antonio.
Anfernee Simons added four 3-pointers and 16 points off the bench for Portland. Carmelo Anthony added 13 points. Enes Kanter had 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Blazers (32-23).
DeRozan had 29 points for the Spurs (26-28), and Murray had a triple double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Poetl had 17 points and former Oregon State/Reynolds High player Drew Eubanks had 13 points.
Next up: The Blazers play at Charlotte, 4 p.m. Sunday.
