Blazers win summer league opener
Guard Antonio Blakeney scored 27 points off the bench and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Charlotte Hornets 93-86 on Sunday in their opener at the NBA's Las Vegas Summer League.
George King (17 points) was the only other Blazer in double figures.
Blakeney, a 6-foot-4 former G-League MVP out of LSU, made 9 of 10 field goals (2 of 3 3-pointers) and all seven of his foul shots. King was 5 of 6 from 3-point range and Portland made 11 of 25 3s (44%).
The Blazers next game is 8 p.m. Tuesday against the Clippers (ESPNU television).
