Portland leads for much of the game, and holds off Houston in the second half; Blazers play at Denver on Sunday

NURKICWell, it had to come sometime. The Trail Blazers led for much of the game in winning at Houston, 104-92, on Friday for Portland's first road win of the season.

The Blazers (6-7) had lost their first six games away from Moda Center.

Then again, it wasn't a playoff-level team that Portland beat on Friday. The Rockets fell to 1-11, with the one win being against Oklahoma City.

Damian Lillard had 20 points, CJ McCollum 17 and Jusuf Nurkic 12 points and nine rebounds. Nurkic went 10 for 10 at the free-throw line. Nassir Little had a terrific game with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

The Blazers didn't shoot well (.391, including 11 of 36 from the 3-point line, .306). But, they hit 25 of 31 free throws.

And, they held Houston to .400 shooting, including .219 from the 3-point line (7 of 32).

Kevin Porter Jr. had 18 points for Houston.

The Blazers play at Denver, 5 p.m. Sunday, in the final game of a four-game road trip.
