PIL has repeat district meet team champions: Wilson boys, Lincoln girls

Boys team scores — Wilson 111 1/2, Lincoln 104 1/2, Franklin 69 1/2, Cleveland 74 1/2, Grant 69, Roosevelt 66, Benson 61, Madison 52, Jefferson 40.

Highlights: Wilson scored in 16 of 17 events to defend its PIL title in the meet at Franklin. Lincoln was the runner-up for the second consecutive year.

For the victorious Trojans, junior Alex Slenning won the 3,000 and ran third in the 1,500 (8 minutes 42.36 seconds, 4:06.27), while senior Caleb Seeley was second in the 1,500 and third in the 800 (4:03.75, 1:55.86). Both distance aces are entered in their two events for the Oregon School Activities Assocation Class 6A championships, Friday and Saturday at Hayward Field in Eugene.
