Lincoln High's Rees sisters power through pressure, medical timeout to win 6A title

The Lincoln High senior has been dealing with patellar tendinosis in her right knee for about eight months, which is why she needed attention from a trainer before the decisive set of Saturday's Class 6A girls doubles state finals.

Rees and her freshman sister, Julia, overcame a tough second set to beat Lake Oswego's Anna Lowy and Melisha Dogra 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, for the Oregon School Activities Association title.

The Rees sisters won the final six games of the third set.
