After two goals in win over San Jose, midfielder figures to be key vs. potent FC Dallas

A healthy, sharp Diego Valeri is vital to the Portland Timbers.

That was evident, as it often is, last Friday.

Valeri scored both goals as the Timbers toppled the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 at Providence Park and snapped a five-game winless streak.

The match was Valeri's fourth after missing two with a hip flexor injury. The veteran MLS midfielder from Argentina has eight goals this season, including one in his first game back, versus Montreal.
