Jonah Pemberton went 12-for-12 form the free-throw line and led all scorers with 20 points, lifting the Falcons into Thursday's semifinals against top-ranked Wilsonville.

CORVALLIS -- La Salle Prep's Jonah Pemberton scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the second half as the Falcons pulled away for a 54-38 victory over Summit in Tuesday's OSAA Class 5A boys' basketball quarterfinals at Gill Coliseum.

Jonah PembertonJason Burns added 16 points and seven rebounds for the Falcons (19-5), who survived eight lead changes and six ties to advance to Thursday's 1:30 p.m. semifinal against top-ranked Wilsonville (25-1).

The turning point Tuesday came late in the third quarter when La Salle went on a 14-3 run that turned a 22-20 deficit into a 34-25 lead.

After Summit's Andy Jones converted a three-point play to cut La Salle's lead to 40-37 with 3:39 to play in the fourth quarter, Jason Burns grabbed an offensive rebound off a Stew Robertson miss and scored for the Falcons, touching off a 6-0 burst that helped put the game out of reach.

Pemberton made 4 of 13 shots from the field and went 12-for-12 from the free-throw line for the Falcons, who shots 38.6 percent (17 for 44) from the field and had a 31-25 advantage in rebounds.

Cam Baker led Summit with 18 points, and Russell Wells finished with seven points for the Storm.

This marks the first time La Salle has reached the semifinals in three seasons since making the jump from Class 4A, and the first time since 2014 when the Falcons reached the finals against Philomath.

Wilsonville swept the two-game, regular-season Northwest Oregon Conference series with La Salle, winning by scores of 63-50 at Wilsonville on Jan. 20, and 50-46 at La Salle Prep on Feb. 17.
