Police respond to two reports of gunfire just minutes apart in different areas of town.

PORTLAND TRIBUNE FILE PHOTOS - Portland police vehicles.Police are investigating two early Sunday shootings where no one was immediately reported injured.

In the first incident, at 2:05 a.m. on July 22, Central Precinct officers were in the area of Northwest 4th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street when they heard gunfire. Additional officers responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

Responding officers searched for suspects and people injured by the shooting, but were unable to find any. During a canvass of the area, evidence of gunfire was located and seized in a parking lot near Northwest 4th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street. Officers did not locate any property damaged by the gunfire.

Based on preliminary information, the Gang Enforcement Team responded to assume the investigation. Criminalists with the Forensic Evidence Division have also responded to assist with this investigation.

Anyone who witnessed this shooting or who possesses video surveillance footage of the shooting is asked to contact Portland Police Bureau's Tactical Operations Division's Gang Enforcement Team at 503-823-4106.

Then, at 2:27 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to the report of gunfire near Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Boise Street.

When officers arrived in the area, they located several people who heard the gunfire. Officers searched the area for suspects and injured people, but did not find any.

As officers canvassed the neighborhood, they located a residence in the 4000 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue that had been struck multiple times by gunfire. Officers contacted the residents of the occupied home and determined no one inside the home was injured by the gunfire.

Officers also located an unoccupied and parked vehicle in the 4000 block of Southeast 122nd Avenue that was struck by gunfire. Evidence of gunfire was also located near Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Gladstone Street.

The suspect was described as a 25 to 30 year-old male, 5'10" tall, 160 pounds, wearing a red zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and armed with a handgun. The suspect was last seen traveling southbound on Southeast 122nd Avenue on foot.

This incident will be forwarded to the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division for additional investigation.
