Authorities announced another five arrests, 26 traffic stops and four towed vehicles during an enforcement mission on the weekend of Saturday, Aug. 10.

"Officers have been seeking out groups of drivers that are gathering for the purposes of displays of speed," police said in a statement. "The illegal speed racing community is getting the message that this behavior will result in citations, towed vehicles and arrests."

Here's who was arrested:

• Isaiah Lamar Brown, 20, of Portland, on charges of reckless driving, reckless endangering and first-degree forgery

• Darling J. Hinojosa, 23, of Portland, on charges of reckless driving

• Guillermo Estrada Vargas, 22, of Portland, on charges of reckless driving

• Michael Dean Bennion, 38, on charges of reckless driving, DUII and failure to perform a driver's duties

• Sean Philip Moore, 44, on charges of DUII, reckless driving and five counts of reckless endangering. Police say officers were "nearly struck" due to Moore's alleged conduct.

Brown, Estrada Vargas and Moore were booked and released from the downtown jail, according to records. Bennion and Hinojosa's names didn't appear in those records at all.

Brown has been charged many times for vehicle offenses such as driving while suspended or revoked, speeding, failure to use a seat belt, failure to display registration plates, driving uninsured and for theft.

Moore told jailers he lives off public assistance. He has six misdemeanor convictions on his record.

Police say their airplane unit has been especially helpful for tracking suspicious congregations of drivers.
