Saturday evening incident is the 11th collision investigated by the Portland Police Bureau's Major Crash Team so far this year

COURTESY PPB - The scene of the Saturday evening crash.Police are ontinuing to investigate a Saturday evening vehicle-pedestrian crash that left a man with potentially life-threatening injuries in West Portland.

The victim, who was taken to an area hospital, was not immediately identified. His condition was not released, either.

The man was struck by a 2013 Infinity sedan as he attempted to cross West Burnside Street between Southwest St. Clair Avenue and Northwest 22nd Place just before 7 p.m. on Feb. 22.

Both the driver and passenger in the sedan stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Police evaluated the driver and later determined neither impairment nor distracted driving caused the crash. No arrests were made and no citations were issued.

"Drivers go pretty fast on this road," a woman who lives in the area told KOIN 6 News. "I always tell people 'be careful, cross in the crosswalk.' It's dangerous. I've seen multiple accidents in the last few months on Burnside."

This is the 11th investigation conducted by the Portland Police Bureau's Major Crash Team so far this year. Eight of those investigations were crashes involving a fatality, according to police.
